Henning Roedel is founder of Hardhat Robotics, which builds field-ready robots for hazardous and physically demanding work in construction and electrical trades. He holds a PhD in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford, where he researched earthquake engineering, and a bachelor's degree from UCLA. Before founding the company in 2024, Roedel spent five years at DPR Construction, most recently as robotics lead, after earlier roles in business development at ALICE Technologies and as a graduate researcher at NASA Ames and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is based in San Francisco.
