Jan Liphardt is founder of OpenMind, a San Francisco company that builds OM1, an open source operating system that lets humanoid robots communicate and coordinate with each other and with people. He is also an associate professor of bioengineering at Stanford University, a post he has held since 2013, and was previously an associate professor of physics at UC Berkeley. He earned his PhD at Cambridge University. He also serves as a professor in residence at StartX, Stanford's startup accelerator.
