Kelvin Yu is founder and CEO of Substrate, a startup building embedded financing infrastructure that lets equipment vendors offer buyers instant loans through a marketplace of lenders. He attended Princeton without finishing his degree, then worked as a two-time founding engineer, an investor at In-Q-Tel, and a congressional fellow advising the House Science Subcommittee on Research and Technology on AI policy. He later led AI policy work at the House Science Committee and built and invested in early-stage startups before founding Substrate to modernize how industrial equipment gets financed.
