Rafic Makki is Head Technologist and Fellow at Mubadala Capital, where he has worked since 2018 on innovation, venture investing, and semiconductor strategy for the global asset manager. He previously spent six years as Executive Fellow in operations at GlobalFoundries. Earlier in his career he held academic and government posts in the UAE, including Head of Strategic Planning at the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge and Dean of the College of IT at United Arab Emirates University. He holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
