Vishal Dugar is co-founder and CTO of Gritt, a San Francisco company building AI controlled robotic systems that attach to standard construction equipment. He trained as a roboticist at Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Institute and earlier in his career deployed autonomous trucking fleets and self piloting aircraft. With co-founder and CEO Puneet Puri, he argues construction productivity has fallen for decades even as demand for infrastructure keeps rising. Gritt's machines already place solar panels and handle concrete and rebar work at several times the pace of an unassisted crew.
